New City is committed to the Historic Christian faith and has a passion for the great commission and great commandment. We hold a Christian World View using the following paradigm that helps unfold how God intersects our lives and culture. This is why it is important to see how most of life’s questions revolve around, Creation – where did I come from and why am I here, Fall – I am messed up, Redemption – what is the solution to my problem, Reconciliation/restoration – what do I do with my life and what happens when I die.

Creation: We believe that God is the creator of all things both seen and unseen. We believe that He created everything good and with a purpose. He created mankind to live in harmony with Him and follow His rule for life.

We believe that God is a triune being who exists as Father, Son and Spirit. Each member of the Godhead has a role and purpose in the Church.

Creation: We believe that the Father is the one who plans from eternity past, Redemption: the Son is the redeemer and savior, who dies on the cross and is raised from the dead, through whom God raises up a people for Himself, Reconciliation/restoration: the Holy Spirit is the one who applies this great salvation to individuals, giving gifts to minister both in and outside the church, and convicts the world of sin.

New City is committed to the Bible as being the inspired Word of God that is the basis for understanding life and all issues related to Faith and the purpose of the Church. It is the Bible that explains fully the Creation, the Fall, Redemption and Reconciliation.

Fall: We believe that man has rejected God’s plan to live in harmony with Him and is sinful and rebellious. We believe that Lucifer/Satan is a fallen angel who is the father of all lies who led a rebellion in heaven and ultimately tempted Adam and Eve to rebel against God. (Gen 1-3, Romans 3:23, 6:23)

Redemption/reconciliation: God sought to remedy man’s sinful nature through the sending of His Son as redeemer and savior. Salvation is by grace through faith that is totally a work of God that causes new life to come out of darkness and sin. (Eph 2:8-10) We believe that salvation is only possible through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the only Son of God, who took upon himself the Father’s judgment, which we deserve.

Reconciliation/restoration: We believe that the church is God’s instrument to proclaim who He is (Worship), proclaim the gospel, and live out the word in deed to see community transformation happen. (God has a heart for the City.) (Reconciliation – 2 Cor 5:17-21)

We believe that the Church is ruled by Christ, through His Word, through His chosen leaders, i.e. pastors, elders and deacons.

We believe that Jesus Christ will return to take His Church to be with Him forever in Heaven. We believe that those who have rejected Christ and God’s plan of salvation will live in separation from God for an eternity and be eternally punished for their sinful rebellion. (We believe in a literal hell that serves God’s purpose for Justice)

We believe that it is important for Christians to pursue unity in the essentials of the Christian Faith and charity in secondary areas that can cause division in the body of Christ.
